Giorgio Armani’s global clean water project, Acqua for Life, is now working with Chinese consumers to help water-scarce regions access safe drinking water, which promotes sustainable development in water-scarce regions. DBS Bank (Hong Kong) signed a USD35 million sustainability-linked loan for Bosideng, a globally leading Chinese down apparel retailer, which marks the first sustainability-linked loan for Bosideng as well as the largest loan of its kind in Asia. Sustainable fashion designer Feng Chen Wang navigates perfectionism and acceptance in uncertainty with her latest Fall/Winter 2022 collection. Meanwhile, in New York, Angel Chang presented her latest zero-carbon Spring 2023 womenswear collection, “Weaving the Future With Indigenous Textiles” with no plastics, synthetics, fossil fuels, or electricity used.

The world's largest sustainable fashion design competition Redress Design Award unveiled this year's winners at the 2022 Grand Final Fashion Presentation in Hong Kong. In an announcement made by Redress and VF Corporation, the NGO’s four-year collaborator, Federico Badini Confalonieri was revealed to be the recipient of the award. The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) recently announced the official upgrade of the Institute of Textiles and Clothing (ITC) and the establishment of the School of Fashion and Textiles (SFT), the third flagship and independent school within PolyU, focusing on fashion and textile education, and innovative technology research. While Hang Seng Bank and The Hong Kong Polytechnic University have teamed up to launch the Hang Seng x PolyU Sustainable Future Challenge: Textile and Fashion, which calls for innovation and technology talent, including young creatives, to help imagine the future of the industry with a “sustainability-centric” mindset.

Fashion Summit (HK) returns to CENTRESTAGE this year! Alibaba Group saved 619,944 metric tons of carbon dioxide equivalent in emissions across 12 months by tapping cleaner energy sources as it strives to hit its carbon neutrality target. That saving is on a par with the carbon dioxide generated by 12,915 U.S. households in a year, according to the platform company’s latest released Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) report.
