RadiciGroup, The LYCRA Company and Triumph Achieve Breakthrough in Mixed-Fibre Textile Recycling

RadiciGroup, The LYCRA Company, and lingerie brand Triumph have successfully demonstrated a breakthrough in circular fashion by recycling mixed-fibre garments into new products. Through an innovative, patented selective dissolution process developed by Radici InNova, the partners were able to recover both nylon and LYCRA® fibre from mixed textile waste and reuse them to create a lingerie set made from 100% recycled materials within a closed-loop system.

The non-toxic and economically viable process overcomes one of the textile industry’s long-standing challenges—recycling fabrics made from multiple fibres—and can be applied to common nylon types regardless of fibre composition. While the resulting lingerie set serves as a prototype, the project proves the technical feasibility of mixed-textile recycling and lays the foundation for future industrial-scale applications, marking a significant step toward circularity in the apparel industry.
