L’Oréal Announces First Cohort of L’AcceleratOR Backed by €100M Investment

L’Oréal has announced the first cohort of 13 startups and SMEs selected for L’AcceleratOR, its new sustainable innovation accelerator backed by a €100 million ($108 million) commitment over five years. Chosen from nearly 1,000 applications across 101 countries, the cohort reflects the growing momentum of innovation in climate action, circular economy solutions, and nature-based technologies. The program is run in partnership with the University of Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership.

The selected innovators span next-generation packaging, bio-based ingredients, circular waste treatment, renewable fuels, and digital tools for emissions intelligence. Over the next six to nine months, participants will enter a pilot-readiness phase, gaining access to L’Oréal’s global operations and sustainability expertise to test and scale their solutions. The initiative underscores L’Oréal’s strategy to accelerate industrial-scale deployment of high-impact sustainability technologies across its value chain.

For early-stage climate and circularity ventures, access to industrial testing environments can accelerate time to market. It may also improve bankability and de-risk commercial adoption for institutional investors seeking credible sustainability assets and technologies.
