BOSS Debuts NovaPoly Sustainable Yarn at the Australian Open

BOSS is showcasing NovaPoly, a newly developed sustainable yarn, at this month’s Australian Open, marking a key milestone in the brand’s material innovation strategy. The recycled yarn is positioned as an alternative to virgin polyester and reflects BOSS’s ongoing commitment to advancing performance-driven and lower-impact textile solutions.

Developed in collaboration with Jiaren Chemical Recycling and NBC LLC, NovaPoly is made from recycled pre- and post-consumer textile waste and incorporates a special additive designed to accelerate degradability compared with conventional polyester fibres in anaerobic, active microbial environments.

The yarn will be worn on court by BOSS brand ambassadors Taylor Fritz and Matteo Berrettini, who will showcase NovaPoly across tennis apparel, including jerseys, shorts, and caps, during matches in Melbourne. According to the company, the launch reinforces BOSS’s ambition to develop alternatives to traditional polyester and polyamide fibres through innovation and advanced materials.

Products featuring NovaPoly will be available globally from this month through BOSS’s online channels, retail stores, and selected wholesale partners, supported by a campaign highlighting craftsmanship, athlete endorsements, and the forward-looking potential of the new yarn.
