Gap Inc. partners with Ambercycle to scale textile-to-textile recycled materials

Gap Inc., the renowned parent company behind Gap, Old Navy, and Athleta, announces a groundbreaking collaboration with Ambercycle to incorporate textile-to-textile recycled materials into Athleta products.

Spearheading this eco-friendly initiative is Los Angeles-based Ambercycle, known for its innovative cycora®, a regenerated polyester crafted from discarded textiles. Athleta plans to integrate cycora® extensively across its collections starting from 2026, aligning with its mission-driven approach and B Corp certification.

Ambercycle's molecular regeneration process transforms waste polyester into a premium material that matches the quality of virgin-grade polyester, significantly reducing the carbon footprint associated with production. This approach not only fosters sustainability but also addresses the pressing issue of textile waste disposal by circumventing landfilling or incineration.

This collaboration underscores the rising demand for sustainable materials produced through textile-to-textile regeneration and Gap Inc.'s dedication to offering innovative, environmentally responsible products.
