Starbucks Reserve Shanghai Roastery collaborates with avant-garde fashion designer Judy Hua

On September 26, Starbucks Reserve Shanghai Roastery joined forces with pioneering fashion designer Judy Hua to launch a unique collaborative series. Inspired by the stains of coffee, this collection blends Judy Hua’s signature red lips motif with fluorescent orange accents, fusing flat and three-dimensional craftsmanship, sustainable concepts, and a multifaceted deconstruction of coffee culture.

Judy Hua, the founder and creative director of her namesake fashion brand JUDYHUA, is known for her innovative designs, having won accolades such as the "China Designer of the Year Award" and the "Most Stylish Award." The collaboration between Shanghai Roastery and JUDYHUA was a natural fit, with both brands sharing a core focus on innovation, sustainability, and the pursuit of an elevated lifestyle. Since its opening in 2017, the Shanghai Roastery has become a cultural landmark for coffee lovers, offering an immersive "coffee wonderland" experience, freshly roasted premium Starbucks Reserve coffee, and a variety of creative beverages. It draws millions of visitors annually, all eager to experience its blend of quality and creativity. Similarly, JUDYHUA’s ethos of craftsmanship and innovation resonates strongly with the Roastery’s vision, making this collaboration a seamless extension of both brands’ DNA.

In this exclusive collection, designer Judy Hua took inspiration from coffee stains and applied them to a range of fashion items, including T-shirts, hats, and coffee cups, offering an artistic response to the bold and independent spirit of today’s urban youth. The collection predominantly features Starbucks Reserve’s iconic black and coffee hues, with the coffee stains and striking red lips motif creating a dynamic and vibrant artistic flair. These design elements reflect Hua’s vision of drawing inspiration from everyday life, merging aesthetics and functionality.
