Aesop’s first Suzhou boutique opens in the historic Fenghuang Hall

Recently, Aesop and Shanghai-based design studio Offhand Practice officially opened Aesop’s first Suzhou boutique, harmonizing the poetic aesthetics of historic architecture and modern space in the well-preserved late-Qing Suzhou-style building "Fenghuang Hall".

Inspired by the traditional Suzhou gardens, the boutique space takes the form of a "cover", and the semi-open layout, which separates but does not cut off, outlines the elegance and poetry unique to Suzhou-style gardens. The room features an embroidered lamp wrapped in silk and satin, on which the exquisite embroidery patterns are vividly rendered by the hands of local artisans using the non-heritage "Suzhou embroidery" technique. The outdoor courtyard also follows the design concept of Suzhou Gardens, creating a sense of nature and wilderness between the mountains and water. The boutique also carefully selects antique furniture from the Qing Dynasty, reducing the need for new resources and giving new vitality to these old objects.

In this beautiful space where the past meets the present, customers can relax on traditional Chinese wooden chairs, enjoy the peace and relaxation created by Aesop, and experience a range of exceptional formulas specially developed for skin, hair, and body.
