The luxury jewelry brand Qeelin has made a significant donation to the Dunhuang Research Institute and the China Dunhuang Grottoes Conservation Research Foundation to fund the "Sui and Tang Dynasty Accessories Research Project of Dunhuang Grottoes." This initiative seeks to delve deeper into the cultural significance of the accessories depicted in the ancient murals of the Mogao Caves, a site of immense historical and artistic value.

Qeelin's connection to Dunhuang began over two decades ago, and the brand has since been committed to marrying Chinese traditional culture with modern design. Dennis Chan, Qeelin's founder and creative director, was personally inspired by the caves' murals, leading to the establishment of a brand that celebrates Eastern heritage. The donation is a testament to Qeelin's dedication to cultural preservation and the advancement of scholarly research.

This collaborative effort is expected to not only bolster the study of Dunhuang's cultural artifacts but also to promote Chinese culture on the global stage. By supporting the research, Qeelin hopes to contribute to a deeper understanding and appreciation of the historical and cultural significance of the Dunhuang Grottoes among a wider audience.
