Bicester Village launches The Creative Spot pop-up exhibition for sustainable fashion in Shanghai
In conjunction with the Spring/Summer 2025 Shanghai Fashion Week, Bicester Collection is excited to announce its collaboration with Redress, an environmental NGO, to launch The Creative Spot flash mob exhibition at Bicester Village Shanghai. This exhibition showcases exceptional works from sustainable fashion designers around the globe, marking The Creative Spot's debut in China and heralding a new chapter in empowering emerging fashion talent.
Running from October 24 to the end of November 2024, The Creative Spot exhibition will refresh its displays every two weeks, featuring creations from the top ten finalists of the 2024 Redress Design Contest, along with previous winners. Notable highlights include Chinese designer Tian Ruyin's zero-waste clothing line, "STRIP STRAP STRIPE," which utilizes innovative pattern cutting and fabric folding techniques, and Hong Kong designer Tiger Chung's "The Wanderer" series, crafted from recycled materials such as towels and curtains typically found in hotels.
Visitors will also have the opportunity to purchase a limited-edition sustainable tote bag at The Creative Spot. Produced in collaboration with MaTTTER, a pioneering sustainable materials company, this unique tote bag is made from apples. All proceeds from the sale of this exclusive item will benefit the Shanghai Dream Foundation's AIAI Employment Support Fund, a charitable partner of Bicester Village Shanghai, aimed at supporting the development and employment of youth with intellectual disabilities.
For over two decades, Bicester Collection has been committed to supporting creative talents and providing a robust platform for emerging designers. Upholding its mission to nurture new fashion forces, the collection offers invaluable opportunities for creation and exhibition through mentorships, business activities, and diverse projects. The Creative Spot flash boutique, initially introduced at Bicester Village Milan Fidenza in 2016, now makes its debut in Shanghai, providing a more diverse exhibition space for designers’ works.
