Amer Sports Reports Progress on Climate and Circularity Goals in 2025 Sustainability Report

Global sporting goods company Amer Sports has released its Sustainability Report 2025, highlighting progress across climate action, circularity, nature stewardship, and responsible value chain management. The report outlines the company’s efforts to strengthen sustainability governance and data transparency while advancing toward its long-term net-zero ambition.

A major milestone in 2025 was the validation of Amer Sports’ net-zero by 2050 ambition and 2030 near-term climate targets by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), covering Scope 1, Scope 2, and Scope 3 emissions. The company also maintained its CDP Climate A- rating for a second consecutive year and achieved an A score for Supplier Engagement. Although total emissions increased alongside business growth, Amer Sports reported reductions in emissions intensity across all scopes and increased the share of renewable energy in its own operations from 39% to 72%.

The report highlights continued progress in embedding circularity across the company’s portfolio of brands. Arc’teryx expanded its ReBIRD™ repair and resale program to 43 service centers globally, processing more than 50,000 products, while resale activity grew 24% year-on-year. Salomon introduced the XT PU.RE concept shoe, designed using predominantly recycled and fully recyclable materials, and Peak Performance unveiled its Helium Loop Anorak proof-of-concept, recognized with an ISPO award for its recyclability-focused design.

Additional initiatives included Wilson’s transition toward more recyclable, paper-based packaging solutions and Atomic’s completion of 25 product life cycle assessments, resulting in a 30% reduction in raw material-related carbon emissions for its Backland ski models. Amer Sports also advanced its nature strategy by conducting biodiversity and nature-related impact assessments aligned with the Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures (TNFD) framework.

Looking ahead, the company plans to implement its revised 2030 sustainability targets, strengthen compliance with evolving European sustainability reporting requirements, and develop a Climate Transition Plan in 2026 to support progress toward its science-based climate commitments. According to Amer Sports, robust governance, reliable data, and audit-ready processes will remain central to delivering sustainability progress while supporting continued business growth.
