Redress Design Award Unveils Eight Global Finalists for 2026 Sustainable Fashion Competition

The Redress Design Award, widely recognized as the world’s leading sustainable fashion design competition, has announced the eight finalists selected for its 2026 cycle. Organized by Hong Kong-based environmental NGO Redress with support from the Cultural and Creative Industries Development Agency (CCIDA), the competition aims to equip emerging designers with the skills and knowledge needed to drive fashion’s transition toward a circular economy. This year’s finalists represent a diverse range of markets, including the UK, Austria, Germany, Israel, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and the Chinese Mainland, reflecting the global momentum behind sustainable fashion innovation.

Over the coming months, finalists will transform waste textiles into original fashion collections using circular design strategies such as upcycling, reconstruction, and zero-waste design. Their creations will be unveiled at the Grand Final Fashion Show in Hong Kong this September, with garment transportation supported by DHL Express through its GoGreen Plus service. The winner, supported by global apparel manufacturer Simple Approach, will receive a career-development trip to the United Kingdom featuring industry mentorship, studio visits, and behind-the-scenes exposure to responsible fashion design and manufacturing. In August, the competition will also open public voting for its People’s Choice Award, encouraging consumers to engage with solutions addressing the fashion industry’s growing waste challenge.
