ULIO Store launched at Xintiandi

From October 13th to 30th, ULIO store was first implemented in Shanghai Xintiandi, with a more interactive and interesting pop-up store format in the second-floor space of Xintiandi Fashion I, making sustainable products from industrial sectors available to consumers and truly realizing sustainable fashion that is touchable, experiential, and purchasable.

canU and Xintiandi have long been concerned about the future development of sustainable fashion, hoping to establish a long-term complete ecology through deep links in the industry chain, to support and incubate Chinese creative talents in sustainable fashion, and to encourage and guide the public to practice a more responsible lifestyle in their daily lives.

ULIO store has invited over 20 exhibitors, including 8ON8、A SAUCEY COURSE、A-LIST UPCYCLING LAB、BEASTY PETS、BLUE SKY LAB、CIRCULAR JOY、GAKI_FIBER、HOHILIFE、HúbyHú、JACQUES WEI PETS、Memory Reproduce™、LOMI、MEGARMENTS、Mitsein、motoguo、Nan Knits、OTTOOMMO Presented by PRONOUNCE、OSMOS、PH5、piu、Selfist、Soft Mountains、studio KAE、swaying、TAVN. The product categories cover clothing, footwear and bags, jewelry, lifestyle products, and pet supplies.

A-LIST UPCYCLING LAB has brought the brand's latest bamboo fiber display shelves and watermelon seed fiber tableware; BLUE SKY LAB is a sustainable fashion brand under the NIO Life brand, using the remaining car-grade fabrics from car manufacturing as the core material to create a series of fashion items; CIRCULAR JOY's "Excellent Eco-leather" fabric comes from the top-quality Chinese water-based PU supply chain, with a soft feel similar to that of lambskin; jewelry brand GAKI_FIBER uses handicrafts to raise awareness of issues such as marine conservation and biodiversity; jewelry brand SOFT MOUNTAINS insists on using natural materials, respecting "nature's gifts," and reduces material waste through recycling or clever design; Memory Reproduce™ was founded by fiber artist Cao Cao, who is skilled in transforming used clothes into various creative artworks, giving old clothes a new lease on life.

In terms of sustainable pet products, the exhibiting brand BEASTY PETS focuses on creating original products that are practical for both humans and pets, with multi-functionality for individual items; Swedish pet care brand LOMI is committed to the principles of naturalness and environmental protection, using ingredients extracted from natural plants to create dog and cat shampoos; and PRONOUNCE has presented the environment-friendly pet project OTTOOMMO Presented by PRONOUNCE, which transforms unused scrap fabric into aesthetically pleasing pet clothing.

In addition, the ULIO store will also sell products developed by the first collaboration between canU and the sustainable yarn brand UPW. canU selects UPW's RWS fine merino wool and uses bold color blocks in their creativity and design to create sustainable blankets and scarves that are both design-conscious and practical.

Drawing inspiration from the idea of "unexpected oases" in the city, artist KAIKAI creates recycled fabric-based artistic plant installations in the pop-up store. Untreated fabric presents its original color and texture, symbolizing that everything that starts from the land will eventually return to the land. Fiber artist Cao Cao brings large toys made from recycled yarn to pass on the sustainable concept through imaginative reconstruction.

A REMAKE workshop is also set up inside the venue to encourage the public to participate in sustainable actions. At the same time, the public also has the opportunity to experience the sustainable concept of UPW and TENCEL™ up close, opening a blind box to gain knowledge related to sustainability and integrating sustainable practices into their daily lives.

In the future, Shanghai Fashion Week, Xintiandi, and canU will continue to plan a three-year development goal, hoping to guide the public from being unfamiliar with sustainable fashion design to being familiar with it, from mere observation to consumption, and gradually create China's most representative commercial ecosystem for sustainable fashion.

GREENEXT's Take:

The launch of the ULIO store in Xintiandi successfully promotes sustainable fashion for the public, making it more accessible and acceptable. Through pop-up stores, sustainable fashion products are directly exposed to consumers, enhancing their awareness and acceptance, thereby promoting wider adoption and popularization. The collaboration between canU and Xintiandi highlights the significance of deep industry linkage for the development of a sustainable fashion industry. This cooperation model not only optimizes resources but also injects new vitality into the industry, offering a platform for designers to showcase their works, fostering talents in sustainable fashion, and triggering more innovations. The creative force of fiber artist Cao Cao has also provided new forms of expression for sustainable fashion and triggered people's thoughts on environmental protection and reuse. These efforts are undoubtedly bringing positive impacts to society and laying a solid foundation for the future of the sustainable fashion industry.
