Target to launch denim take-back scheme

Target, a leading retailer known for its wide range of products, has announced the launch of a denim take-back scheme, reinforcing its commitment to sustainable practices within the fashion industry. This initiative is designed to encourage customers to recycle their used denim items, thereby reducing textile waste and supporting a more circular economy.

The retailer says the event will run from 4-10 August in its almost 2,000 stores nationwide and is in response to growing consumer interest in sustainability in the garment industry. The new program will allow customers to return their worn denim products to Target stores, where they will be responsibly recycled into new materials or upcycled for other uses. This move by Target is in line with the growing trend of sustainability in retail, addressing the environmental impact of fast fashion and promoting a more conscious consumption model.
