Patou launches digital verification technology

LVMH’s Patou has begun rolling out a new AI-powered authentication system with its technology partner Ordre, adding a new dimension to fashion’s effort to fight fakes using AI’s ability to spot patterns indiscernible to humans.

Dubbed 'Authentique Verify' and created in partnership with The Ordre Group, the technology creates unique digital fingerprints of physical luxury products using a smartphone. With the Authentique Verify application, consumers can simply scan the area of the digital fingerprint with their phone to verify that their bag is an original.

Likewise, the technology will create unique digital IDs for products that, on proof of purchase, can be transferred to a customer's phone to establish digital ownership. Authentique's digital IDs also offer extensive product specifications and sustainability information, warranty information as well as styling videos. The technology makes its debut via Patou's bag collaboration with DI and stylist Sita Abellan. The collection features two unique styles crafted from premium deadstock leather and denim effect organic cotton, and will both be protected by Authentique.

Founded in 2014, The Order Group is the leading fashion technology firm powering the fashion metaverse. The company develops fashion technologies redefining relationships between luxury brands, retailers, and consumers.
