LFC and 1PointFive launch a world-first commemorative jersey to mark 20 years since Istanbul
Liverpool FC has created a world-first commemorative jersey in collaboration with 1PointFive, a US-based carbon capture, utilisation and sequestration company, to celebrate 20 years since the 'Miracle of Istanbul', combining history and innovation.
Crafted to mark the club's legendary 2005 Champions League victory and support its sustainability ambitions, each LFC x 1PointFive special-edition shirt will address its carbon footprint by removing carbon dioxide (CO2) from the atmosphere equal to the amount generated during the product's creation. The CO2 will be removed through 1PointFive's Direct Air Capture technology.
Working together in a first-of-its-kind collaboration, LFC and 1PointFive have created a unique jersey that is not only a tribute to this unforgettable triumph but a step toward a sustainable future.
In March, LFC announced its collaboration with 1PointFive, marking a significant step in the club's work to reduce its environmental impact through The Red Way, its award-winning sustainability initiative. The collaboration also saw Liverpool FC join a list of major global corporations, including Microsoft, Amazon, and Airbus, that have already committed to purchasing carbon dioxide removal (CDR) credits from 1PointFive.
