HUGO BOSS Group launches an independent company for material recycling

HUGO BOSS has taken a bold step toward advancing sustainability by launching Eightyards, an independent company dedicated to recycling and repurposing surplus materials. This innovative venture reflects the Group’s strategic commitment to environmentally conscious and resource-efficient production processes.

Led by Marketa Miltenberger as Director and Placido Klitzke as Co-Director—both seasoned leaders from within HUGO BOSS—Eightyards is set to commence operations in January 2025. The company’s ambitious mission goes beyond the fashion industry: it aims to become a pivotal player in the recycling and reuse of surplus materials, such as fabrics, across diverse sectors.

As a global leader in the premium apparel market, HUGO BOSS continues to redefine industry standards through its sustainability initiatives. With its flagship brands, BOSS and HUGO, the Group reaches customers in 131 countries at approximately 7,800 points of sale and via online platforms in 73 countries. The launch of Eightyards aligns seamlessly with the Group’s overarching vision of creating a circular economy and reducing waste.

HUGO BOSS’s sustainability strategy is built on a robust Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) framework, focusing on three core pillars: PRODUCT, PEOPLE, and PLANET. The introduction of Eightyards underscores the Group's determination to lead the industry in sustainable innovation, creating meaningful change while safeguarding the planet.
