Harry Rosen launches garment bag recycling program with TerraCycle

Luxury men's retailer Harry Rosen is spearheading a groundbreaking sustainability initiative in the fashion industry with the launch of its garment bag recycling program in partnership with TerraCycle. This program, the first of its kind in North America, aims to tackle the environmental impact of garment bags by giving them a second life and keeping them out of landfills.

The program encourages clients to return used garment bags to any Harry Rosen location, excluding Outlet stores. TerraCycle will then collect and recycle the bags into various products like gym mats, bicycle seats, pillows, and more, extending their lifespan and reducing waste.

To incentivize participation, Harry Rosen will implement a Green TerraCycle Fee of $2 for each suit and pant garment bag provided at checkout in-store. In return, clients will receive 500 Club Harry points ($5 value) for each returned bag, which can be redeemed towards future purchases, with a maximum of four credits issued per client per month.

This initiative aligns with Harry Rosen's broader sustainability efforts, including the recent launch of 'Harry's Green' packaging, characterized by its iconic green aesthetic. The packaging is not only 100% recyclable but also contains 40% Post-Consumer Waste (PCW) and is FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) certified, ensuring responsible sourcing from managed forests.
