FREITAG turned its Flagship Store into a temporary supermarket for a 30-year anniversary celebration

From September 19th to 30th, FREITAG held its 30th anniversary "Thursday - Supermarket Theme Week" event at its flagship store in Zurich.

In keeping with the idea of recycling, FREITAG collaborated with designer Leandro Destefani to transform the store into a near-real supermarket and display items collected from second-hand platforms such as vegetable display cabinets, conveyor belts, supermarket checkout counters, and unused refrigerated shelves.

According to the brand, the "Thursday - Supermarket Theme Week" event is a tribute to "knockoffs" - in the early days of FREITAG's founding, many imitators emerged on the market, including one of Switzerland's largest supermarket chains. This chain named the imitation product "Donnerstag" and used new thin plastic for mass production. Although imitation is not a good thing, FREITAG believes that it was a turning point for it to become an original brand.

Therefore, FREITAG launched the limited edition "F13-D COPY CAT" bag during this event, turning imitation bags into recycled materials made of original bags, which will be exclusively sold at the Zurich flagship store during the event. Additionally, 99% of the profits from the campaign will be donated to the social initiative of a Swiss retailer.
