Burberry launches resale with Vestiaire Collective

Burberry is partnering with the global resale platform Vestiaire Collective to give its customers a new way to trade in their pre-loved pieces.

The initiative will give UK and US-based customers the chance to list Burberry women’s outerwear and handbags in exchange for a Burberry gift card. Vestiaire will then offer customers a price for their pre-loved item. Once it has been accepted by the customer, the product will be shipped to Vestiaire Collective, where it will be authenticated and passed through quality control. The pieces that are traded in will be available to purchase globally, giving people around the world a chance to purchase pre-owned Burberry items.

As part of the partnership, Burberry has also donated a selection of women’s Heritage Trench Coats to the platform. The sale price of these items will be donated to the UK-based charity Smart Works, which provides high-quality interview clothes and coaching to unemployed women in need. Burberry has supported Smart Works since 2013, donating products as part of the charity’s mission to help women achieve their potential as they look to enter the workforce.

For more than 165 years, Burberry has carefully crafted luxury clothing, bags and accessories that are made to last. This new partnership is part of the ReBurberry programme, which aims to bring to life circular initiatives for customers, supporting Burberry’s ambition to keep products and materials in use for longer – a value shared and embodied by Vestiaire Collective.
