Back Market and Gab Bois launch a sustainable fashion collection from tech waste

In a groundbreaking collaboration, Back Market, a leading refurbished tech marketplace, has partnered with visual artist Gab Bois to create the F/W 2005: Hardwear collection. This innovative project merges technology and fashion, focusing on sustainability and creativity. The collection challenges perceptions around e-waste, overconsumption, and sustainability.

The partnership aims to raise awareness about the growing issue of electronic waste, the fastest-growing global waste stream. Through their collaboration, Back Market and Bois repurpose old technology into beautiful, functional art, shifting attitudes about e-waste and showcasing its potential in fashion.

The idea for the collection emerged from a shared commitment to sustainability. Bois, an expert in repurposing discarded items, naturally aligned with Back Market's mission. Together, they sought to give new life to tech waste by incorporating it into fashion.

To further promote sustainability, 100% of the proceeds from the collection will be donated to the Right to Repair movement, which advocates for greater access to repairs for tech devices. This reflects a broader goal to promote sustainable consumption and extend the life of electronic devices.
