In celebration of the 20th anniversary of the United Nations Global Compact's (UNGC) introduction of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles, a new interview series titled "ESG+20 Sustainable Development Leadership" has been launched. Produced jointly by the UNGC, CICG Asia-Pacific, and Yicai, the series aims to spotlight sustainable leadership in the corporate world.

The UNGC, through its Asia-Pacific Representative, Ms. Liu Meng, engages in conversations with pioneering entrepreneurs in the field of sustainable development. These discussions focus on sharing management insights and practical experiences of corporate "doers," emphasizing sustainable leadership at both the organizational and individual leader levels.

This initiative marks the 20th anniversary of the UNGC's call to incorporate environmental, social, and governance considerations into business strategies and operations. Over the past two decades, the UNGC has played a pivotal role in guiding businesses globally towards sustainable development, witnessing and participating in transformative journeys across nations and industries. The launch of the interview series reflects a call to action for pragmatic steps in sustainable development and ESG practices.

The "ESG+20 Sustainable Development Leadership" series will be disseminated through various multimedia formats, including videos and articles, across official channels of the UNGC and its partner media outlets. The program aims to inspire stakeholders from the business community, academia, and the general public towards sustainable action and encourages more individuals to become advocates for sustainable development.

The inaugural episode of the series is set to premiere on April 22, 2024, World Earth Day, featuring Xiamen Airlines. As a longstanding member company committed to advancing sustainable development goals, Xiamen Airlines operates the "United Dreamliner," the world's only aircraft adorned with logos representing the United Nations' 17 Sustainable Development Goals, spreading the message of sustainable development to passengers worldwide.
