Tory Burch Expands Women’s Empowerment Efforts With Craft‑Led Initiative in Sichuan
Tory Burch is deepening its commitment to women’s economic empowerment in China with the latest chapter of its “Dream Forward” initiative, launched in partnership with the China Women’s Development Foundation. Now in its third year, the program has already supported more than 3,600 women across Hainan and Guangxi by helping artisans transform traditional crafts—such as Li brocade and Zhuang brocade—into viable, sustainable livelihoods. This year, the brand turns its focus to Sichuan’s centuries‑old rattan‑weaving tradition, a craft passed down through generations and increasingly embraced by women seeking new entrepreneurial pathways.
To spotlight these artisans and the evolving role of heritage crafts in contemporary culture, Tory Burch released a short documentary narrated by brand ambassador Song Yuqi. The film follows several women artisans, including national intangible cultural heritage inheritor Li Zhihui and her daughter Yang Jing, offering a rare look at how traditional techniques are being preserved, adapted and reimagined. Alongside the storytelling effort, the brand has pledged to donate RMB 200 for every “Dream Forward” bracelet sold in mainland China—both in stores and online—to support ongoing training and entrepreneurship funding, creating more opportunities for women to build sustainable futures.
