Starbucks unveils a heritage concept store in Suzhou
On June 6th, in observance of Cultural and Natural Heritage Day, the Starbucks Heritage Concept Store on Renhengcang Street in Suzhou marked its grand opening. This new landmark invites visitors to immerse themselves in the city's cultural tapestry while savoring the signature Starbucks coffee experience.
This third Chinese Starbucks store, the first heritage concept in Jiangsu Province, diverges from previous heritage concept store in Beijing and Shanghai. Instead, a diverse array of heritage skills nationwide engages Suzhou's local culture at this location. Through collaborations with over a dozen artists and heritage artisans, it's as if a contemporary heritage art museum materialized within a Suzhou garden, offering patrons a unique blend of ancient and modern.
The store is aesthetically inspired by the theme of "Garden of Dreams". It presents an impressive large-scale artwork of 70 Suzhou embroidery frames and an extensive ink and blue mural non-heritage art corridor crafted by needle brush painting. The spatial organization echoes the architectural principles of Suzhou gardens, incorporating window holes and pavilion pillars to simulate their scenic effects. Notably, the colorful badges on the high-quality R labels and aprons of this concept store are crafted from Va nationality brocade from Yunnan.
