Redress Design Award 2025 semi-finalists announced: emerging designers lead the charge in sustainable fashion
Redress is proud to unveil the Semi-finalists of the Redress Design Award 2025, spotlighting 30 visionary designers from 48 countries who are redefining the future of fashion through sustainability. Selected from a highly competitive pool of applicants, these rising talents have demonstrated exceptional creativity and innovation in transforming textile waste into wearable art.
The next phase of the competition will see an esteemed international judging panel select 10 Finalists, who will be invited to Hong Kong in early September for an educational experience and the chance to compete for the prestigious First Prize—a HK$50,000 (US$6,400) development fund to accelerate their sustainable fashion careers.
This year’s Semi-finalists represent a global tapestry of creativity, hailing from regions including Mainland China, India, Israel, the United Kingdom, Indonesia, South Africa, and more. Their collections creatively repurpose textile waste—from luxury fabrics to discarded tents—responding to growing consumer demand for sustainability, particularly across emerging markets.
As the fashion industry faces growing scrutiny for its environmental impact, with one rubbish truck’s worth of textiles sent to landfill or incinerated every second, Redress continues to empower change at the source. With 80% of a garment’s environmental footprint determined at the design stage, the competition champions circular solutions and thoughtful design.
As these emerging voices push boundaries and reimagine the industry’s future, Redress remains at the forefront of Asia’s movement toward sustainable fashion, fostering the next generation of designers who will shape a more responsible global fashion system.
