Otter Ton celebrates World Otter Day with pop-up events in 4 cities in China

World Otter Day is observed on the last Wednesday of May each year, aiming to raise awareness about otter conservation and the challenges they face in their survival. For three consecutive years, the Chinese fruit tea brand Otter Ton (水獭吨吨) has been advocating for otter protection.

On the occasion of the brand's second anniversary last month, Otter Ton adopted a Yangtze River Dolphin named "Banna" from the Hongshan Zoo in Nanjing. This year, on World Otter Day, the brand organized offline activities to connect otters with people's daily lives.

From May 27th to 31st, Otter Ton conducted offline public welfare pop-up events in four cities—Nanjing, Shanghai, Shenzhen, and Guangzhou—where otters have been spotted. At each pop-up location, people could receive homemade fruit tea bags while learning about otter knowledge, and they also had the opportunity to interact with adorable otter plush toys and take photos.

Additionally, to promote otter conservation knowledge, the brand has launched a new low-poly, a realistic-style casual mobile game called "TonTon's Adventure," allowing the public to immerse themselves in the daily lives of otters in a virtual space.

Since its establishment in 2021, Otter Ton has been actively involved in otter conservation actions. The brand has collaborated with local coffee shops to hold pop-up events, organized otter conservation lectures in partnership with the Shanghai Natural History Museum, and participated in the "Xinjiang Otter Investigation and Conservation Project," among other initiatives. Through these concrete actions, Otter Ton aims to raise more awareness about biodiversity issues and engage people in otter conservation and urban wetland protection efforts.
