L'Oréal China supports crested ibis conservation with art and generosity
On August 24, 2024, marking the 10th anniversary of the Shanghai Dance Theatre's performance of "Crested Ibises," L'Oréal China, in collaboration with its brand L'Oréal Paris, held a special event to unveil and support its biodiversity protection initiative for the crested ibis and its habitat. This initiative, made possible through a partnership with the China Environmental Protection Foundation and the creation of the "Biodiversity Protection Fund," involves a donation to the Hanzhong Crested Ibis National Nature Reserve Management Bureau in Shaanxi. The funds will be used to monitor the crested ibis population and restore its habitat.
The project, themed "Because our planet is worth it," is dedicated to preserving the "beauty" of the crested ibis as it returns to the skies and aims to engage various stakeholders in contributing to a sustainable future. To share the story of the crested ibis's recovery and the importance of biodiversity protection, the brand has introduced the "Because our planet is worth it" gift box, featuring seven crested ibis bookmarks and one "Ibis Red" lipstick. This symbolizes L'Oréal’s dedication to the conservation of the crested ibis and the broader mission of protecting life on Earth.
During the event, which coincided with the anniversary performance, L'Oréal China presented the gift boxes to the Yangxian Crested Ibis Conservation Promotion Association and the Shanghai Dance Theatre. This initiative seeks to raise awareness about crested ibis conservation and to blend artistic beauty with environmental stewardship.
