LOEWE launches a CNY Limited Jade Edition

LOEWE has invited three master jade carvers to create limited-edition jade pendants for the upcoming Chinese New Year. Each pendant represents a unique blessing for the Year of the Dragon and pays homage to the minimalist ceramic aesthetics of the Ming and Qing dynasties. This collection demonstrates LOEWE's commitment to engaging with local culture.

In the new series of short films, the three masters talk about the symbolic meaning of jade, showcasing their meticulous craftsmanship and the spiritual sustenance they put into the jade carving process.

Among them, Cheng Lei's white jade pendant depicts the shape of a pod with a snail attached, carved from a nearly flawless piece of jade, symbolizing the traditional meaning of fortune, longevity, and happiness. Qiu Qijing's smoky purple pendant takes the form of an eggplant, resembling a rising crown, representing happiness and success, and purple also holds auspicious significance in Chinese culture. Yin Xiaojin excels in depicting animals and plants, and for this collaboration, he used intricate hollowed-out techniques to create a jade pendant in the shape of a cabbage with a dragonfly perched on top. Cabbage has a long history of cultivation in China and also symbolizes prosperity and abundance.

In addition to the jade pendants, LOEWE has also launched a new "Jade Collection" featuring new Flamenco Mini handbags and jewelry, paying homage to the exquisite craftsmanship and textures of Chinese jade carving. LOEWE will also hold a touring talk series "CASA CONVERSATIONS" in Beijing and Chengdu, inviting key figures including jade carving masters, along with renowned experts, historians, and local influential cultural figures to participate. Each event will showcase limited-edition jade pendant ornaments.
