L’Occitane Brings “A Gift in the Palm” Charity Initiative to Rural Classrooms
Ahead of Teachers’ Day 2026, L’Occitane launched the latest chapter of its “A Gift in the Palm” public welfare initiative, donating 9,000 gifts to rural teachers and supporting the construction of five poetry classrooms in rural schools in partnership with the Shanghai Soong Ching Ling Foundation and Shiguang Poetry. The initiative focuses on the role of poetry education in helping children observe their surroundings, express themselves and build emotional connections.
As part of the programme, L’Occitane volunteers travelled to Mangshui Town in Yunnan during the summer to join teachers and students for outdoor poetry classes inspired by nature. The initiative also highlighted the work of rural teacher Li Qin, who has incorporated poetry into her classroom since 2021 to encourage children to express their everyday observations and feelings. Through new classrooms, teaching activities and educational resources, L’Occitane aims to provide longer-term support for poetry education and celebrate the everyday care and dedication of rural teachers.
