klee klee adopts Capybara Xiangxiang at Nanjing Hongshan Forest Zoo
klee klee, a Shanghai-based fashion label known for its minimalist aesthetic and commitment to environmental consciousness, has officially welcomed its first animal team member: a capybara named Xiangxiang from Nanjing Hongshan Forest Zoo.
The decision to adopt Xiangxiang stemmed from an invitation extended by klee klee to conservationist Jia Nan last year to shoot a fashion campaign featuring autumn and winter menswear. Through Jia Nan's lens, the team gained insight into the zoo's conservation efforts and the unique personalities of its resident animals, all of whom enjoy comfortable and natural living conditions that are truly enviable.
In the Tibetan dialect of Lhasa, "klee klee" translates to "take it slow," which perfectly embodies the brand's ethos of slowing down. This sentiment is reflected in the logo's hand gesture, symbolizing relaxation and certainty. Xiangxiang, with its perpetually relaxed and assured demeanor, embodies this philosophy, making it an ideal ambassador for the brand.
With the trend of animal adoption gaining momentum, more and more brands are joining in to support conservation efforts. By adopting animals, brands not only resonate with users but also infuse warmth and depth into their activities, enriching their brand narrative.
