KFC China launches anti-food waste campaign with Guo Jingjing

On the approach of World Food Day, KFC's food station initiated an anti-food waste campaign - "Use Up Your Food". The brand teamed up with brand ambassador Guo Jingjing as the first "day manager" to launch a relay and deliver excess food to people in need, as well as lead children in food packaging.

KFC also partnered with seven other brands, including SUNNER, OATLY, QUAKER, and DAJIANG, to provide 20,000 packs of excess food to reach over 100 cities and 200 KFC food stations to donate to people in need in nearby communities. From October 9th to 16th, users who share their moments of food waste reduction on the official Weibo account have the chance to win a signature photo from Guo Jingjing.

As early as Earth Day 2022, KFC announced the opening of the first two KFC Green Pioneer stores in Beijing and Hangzhou, effectively reducing carbon emissions from restaurant operations. At the 2023 KFC China Charity Event, the brand released the "Nature Thrives · Recycle Initiative," promoting public participation in recycling and incorporating coffee grounds into tableware production. Additionally, KFC will expand its "Food Station" model to over 100 cities and 700 restaurants by the end of 2023 to deliver excess food to people in need.

Through various online and offline channels, KFC encourages young people to embrace a sustainable lifestyle and take action to reduce food waste. The brand is committed to providing help to people in need by taking sustainable actions.
