HKRITA partners with CTA and ANTA to drive sustainable sportswear innovation
The Hong Kong Research Institute of Textiles and Apparel (HKRITA) has forged strategic alliances with China Textile Academy (CTA) and ANTA Sports Products Group to accelerate sustainable innovation in the textile and sportswear industries. The newly signed Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs) aims to fast-track the commercialization of cutting-edge technologies while prioritizing eco-friendly solutions and performance-driven advancements.
CTA, a comprehensive national research institute and high-tech industrial base in the mainland textile industry, will collaborate with HKRITA to accelerate technology transfer and commercialization by scaling up laboratory technologies into pilot tests and intermediate trials. ANTA, a leading sports brand in China, emphasizes innovation as its foundation. The solutions developed under the MOU will be tailored to athletes' needs, enhancing the company's competitive edge in the sportswear market and promoting its sustainable development.
The collaborations will focus on key areas such as new fiber materials, advanced functional products, smart manufacturing and devices, and sustainable regenerated textiles. These joint efforts will enhance the innovations in textile performance and speed up scaling and application.
Founded in 2006 and hosted by The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, HKRITA is a government-funded institute dedicated to advancing sustainable textiles through research, technology transfer, and commercialization. Its work supports the global industry’s shift toward circularity and reduced environmental impact.
