Hello Kitty celebrates her 50th anniversary with a sustainable art exhibition in Shanghai
Hello Kitty and the Sanrio family have collaborated with contemporary Chinese artist Jinky Huang, also known as Huang Xiaomian, to present a special art exhibition titled "A Sustainable World" at TX Huaihai in Shanghai. This exhibition delves into the coexistence between humans and the natural environment, exploring the reflections and connections between sustainable development and art, culture, and everyday life.
Centered around sustainability, the collaborative art exhibition "A Sustainable World" invites Hello Kitty and the Sanrio family to guide visitors into Jinky Huang's innovative "sustainable art" space-time, fostering a unique dialogue between culture and art, as well as the past and the future.
Jinky Huang's fresh exploration of the boundary between traditional Chinese arts and crafts and Hello Kitty's cute charm is evident in the combination of traditional aesthetic spirits and contemporary artistic aesthetics. Over a hundred artworks, ranging from small to large, have been created by Jinky Huang and the Jinky Huang studio, with corresponding non-material cultural heritage inheritance masters invited to complete them by hand. These works extensively utilize sustainable new materials in conjunction with traditional artistic techniques, and some production processes have also incorporated modern industrial technology.
