The Redress Design Award is the world's largest sustainable fashion design competition, aiming to educate and empower emerging designers to apply circular design strategies to reduce fashion's environmental impact. Since its inception in 2011, the competition has received applications from 92 regions, totaling 4,500 designers, with over 330 alumni from 45 regions, including more than 185 based in Asia. Redress's online educational resources have amassed over 18 million views, and various programs have trained 23,000 fashion designers.

Throughout its 15 editions, Redress alumni have collaborated with brands such as American Eagle Outfitters, DHL Hong Kong, Harvey Nichols Hong Kong, Kipling, Shanghai Tang, and Timberland®. Their work has graced platforms like the 2024 Paris Olympics and fashion weeks in Paris, Milan, Shanghai, and Shenzhen. Notably, they have designed outfits for international stars like Lady Gaga, Heidi Klum, Taylor Swift, and Sunmi.

Dr. Zheng's participation in the judging panel underscores the growing emphasis on sustainability in fashion and highlights the critical role of design in driving environmental change. We look forward to the innovative contributions that will emerge from this year's competition.
