Spotlight on China’s Solutions: Cross-Industry Practices Addressing Global Sustainability Challenges

The GREENEXT China Hub brought together the diverse explorations of Chinese enterprises across green manufacturing, low-carbon materials, circular economy, responsible consumption, and cultural sustainability. Rather than a collection of stand-alone product displays, the exhibition offered a broader picture of China’s sustainability innovation landscape shaped by cross-industry action. From automotive manufacturing and industrial materials to beauty supply chains and the digital preservation of cultural heritage, the participating companies demonstrated increasingly systemic and implementation-oriented approaches to shared global challenges, including decarbonization, resource circularity, and responsible value chains.

Across the themes of climate solutions, circular industry solutions, and innovation in Chinese culture, exhibitors showed how Chinese manufacturing is evolving beyond traditional cost and efficiency logic toward green technology, systems integration, and long-term value creation. Autoliv, a major global player in automotive safety systems, shared its experience in advancing renewable energy use and low-carbon manufacturing in China, illustrating how multinational companies can accelerate sustainable transformation through localized operations. Oriental Industries (Suzhou) Co., Ltd. (OTIZ) presented low-carbon material solutions for the automotive industry. Through the development and application of bio-based and recycled polyester and nylon fibers, the company demonstrated how high-performance industrial textiles can achieve a new balance between stringent safety requirements and carbon reduction targets.

In the field of circular economy and closed-loop resource management, IN2ORBITS offered a full-spectrum circular solution covering recycling, upcycling, remanufacturing, and regeneration. The company emphasized the critical role of transparent traceability and quantified environmental impact assessment, positioning circularity as a comprehensive capability that spans material management, brand responsibility, and supply-chain collaboration.

Chinese companies also signalled a stronger green transition in the consumer goods and responsible supply chain space. Sinno Cosmetic Group showcased its capabilities in green ingredients, sustainable packaging, and low-carbon production systems, reflecting the shift of China’s beauty manufacturing sector toward greener R&D and full-chain environmental management. Pechoin, with more than nine decades of brand heritage, extended its story from Oriental herbal research into broader ESG practice, illustrating how a longstanding consumer brand is integrating sustainability into supply chain management, green procurement, and ecosystem collaboration, adding a new chapter to the responsible transformation of Chinese consumer brands. CHA LING L'ESPRIT DU THÉ, meanwhile, brought together tea culture, skincare innovation, and ecological stewardship through its connection to the ancient tea forests of Jingmai Mountain in Yunnan, offering an example of how premium beauty brands can integrate cultural expression with responsible sourcing, traceability, and biodiversity protection.

Additionally, the showcase extended beyond emission reduction and material substitution to include cultural heritage and digital preservation. Artron Art Group presented its “Technology + Art + Ecology” model for cultural sustainability, exploring low-environmental-impact pathways in art publishing and cultural production.

Dialogue and Co-Creation: Driving China-Europe Industrial Collaboration through Climate and Circular Solutions

Alongside the exhibition, GREENEXT’s side event, “China Country Meetup: Climate & Circular Industry Solutions,” emerged as another major highlight of its ChangeNOW 2026 presence. Centered on deployable and scalable climate and circular economy solutions from Chinese enterprises, the session focused on key sectors including advanced materials, automotive manufacturing, sustainable built environments, decarbonized production systems, and consumer goods and culture value chains. It offered a structured view of how Chinese companies are responding to industrial transformation, while also exploring concrete modes of collaboration and market opportunities between China and Europe.

Moderated by Dr. Hong Zheng, Founder of GREENEXT, the session opened with remarks from Li Wenguo, Vice General Representative of the Representative Office in France of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), who emphasized the importance of cross-regional industrial collaboration in the context of green transition from the perspective of China-France and China-Europe economic relations. The discussion then expanded through contributions from guests representing both industry and brands, setting the tone for a conversation that combined international perspective with industrial depth around global sustainability trends, cross-border partnership potential, and market innovation opportunities.

The main session unfolded around three core themes: decarbonizing the automotive supply chain; circular systems and sustainable building materials; and responsible value chains in the consumer and cultural sectors. Autoliv shared low-carbon transition practices from the perspective of global automotive safety and mobility innovation. IN2ORBITS, COLORBO, and DONGPENG presented, respectively, on resource loop management, the design application of recycled materials, and green building materials and urban renewal, demonstrating how Chinese companies are advancing circular economy implementation through technological innovation and industrial integration. For instance, COLORBO showcased how recycled PET can be transformed into circular and regenerative material systems for spatial design, giving new value to discarded plastics, while DONGPENG illustrated its evolution from ceramic manufacturing to a provider of sustainable living solutions, exploring integrated pathways for green building and urban regeneration.

Sinno Cosmetic Group, Pechoin, CHUANYAN 19, and Artron Art Group further extended the discussion into the consumer goods and cultural sectors, presenting diverse explorations ranging from responsible manufacturing and cultural heritage to digitally enabled sustainability solutions. Notably, CHUANYAN 19 reimagines the expression of Eastern flavors in the global spirits landscape by combining glutinous rice as a core ingredient with intangible cultural heritage techniques and modern distillation innovation.

The case studies shared during the session reflected not only the practical depth of Chinese sustainability solutions across sectors but also responded to real demand in the European market around supply chain resilience, materials innovation, and low-carbon consumption. This echoed the broader message of the session: as the global sustainability transition moves into a more complex stage, open dialogue, shared learning, and collaborative innovation will be essential to turning fragmented corporate practices into scalable industrial solutions.

From Chinese Practice to Global Cooperation: The Future of Sustainable Innovation

Through exhibition, dialogue, and industry exchange, the China Sustainability Showcase offered global partners a more direct understanding of how Chinese enterprises are innovating in sustainability, while also creating new opportunities for industrial collaboration between China and Europe. As the global low-carbon transition continues to accelerate, the work being done by Chinese companies in green manufacturing, circular economy, and cultural innovation is becoming an increasingly important force within the broader global sustainability landscape.

Dr. Hong Zheng, Founder of GREENEXT, stated: “As global low-carbon transition continues to accelerate and international regulatory expectations become increasingly stringent, sustainability is no longer an optional extension of corporate social responsibility. It has become central to long-term value creation and global competitiveness. Through platforms like this, we hope to help the world better understand the solutions, wisdom, and cultural perspectives emerging from China today. Sustainability is not the agenda of any single industry; it is a systemic transformation that runs across the entire value chain. GREENEXT aims to break down sector boundaries and connect key stakeholders from resource to consumer, so that through co-creation, shared responsibility, and long-term collaboration, we can contribute to a more resilient and prosperous future.”

As the program's initiator, GREENEXT will continue to leverage exhibition and industry collaboration platforms to advance sustainability from shared value consensus to actionable industrial practice.
