Ecopel launches revolutionary plant-based fur "Flur" at Copenhagen Fashion Week
Ecopel, the French faux fur innovator under China's Haimen Group, introduces a groundbreaking material named "Flur" at Copenhagen Fashion Week. Flur, as shown below, is a 100% plant-based vegan material, free from petrochemicals. Developed over five years, it's biodegradable and utilizes natural dyes to emulate the appearance of wool or mohair.
This innovation is part of Ecopel's broader strategy to gradually phase out synthetic materials in support of more sustainable alternatives. Flur will officially debut at Première Vision in Paris this July, with mass production following suit. Brands have already gained a sneak peek, and Ecopel anticipates Flur's runway appearance in September.
Apart from Flur, Ecopel is updating its composition for the faux fur KOBA®. Ecopel's commitment extends to utilizing solar energy and implementing water recycling in factories to minimize environmental impact. With Flur's launch and KOBA®'s revamped formula, Ecopel aims for a comprehensive approach to animal welfare and sustainability. Ecopel's expansion includes plans to penetrate the U.S. market within the next two years.
