China Environmental Protection Foundation (CEPF) initiated the "Towards Zero Waste" campaign, co-organized by Zhongbang Public Welfare and GREENEXT. From October 28th to November 13th, the public can now visit the exhibition as well as participate in different workshop activities at The InLet, a new trendy landmark in Shanghai!

This campaign presented innovative and environmentally friendly technologies, materials, and works through three sections: a kick-off ceremony, a sustainable exhibition, and a series of eco workshops. With the main focus on turning waste into treasure, the campaign aims to raise awareness among the citizens towards different contributors to climate change, which includes plastic pollution, textile waste, food waste, etc. The campaign also invites the public to experience different eco-friendly concepts such as zero-waste living, upcycling, waste recycling, etc., through a wide variety of workshops.

During the campaign, the CEPF brought a selection of sustainable innovations to the exhibition area in The InLet, together with pioneering organizations and institutions including GREENEXT, Green Connections, PEELSPHERE, KAFFTEC, P.E.T., MEET KNITS, #CycSatelittes By LittleDesignSolution, etc. With the main focus on the common waste sources in our daily life such as textile waste, food waste, marine waste, and domestic waste, the exhibition crosses the fields of fashion and lifestyle to present a sustainable future to the public.

One of the exhibition highlights is that it adopts the portable display booth set-up "TRUNK ZERO" which is recycled from waste. The "TRUNK ZERO" booth set-up was designed by Jae Li, a designer specializing in design sustainability research. Jae locally sourced eco-friendly broken wood for up-cycling, as well as recycled leather in Shanghai.

Apart from the exhibition, the public can also participate in a series of eco workshops, including the creative reconstruction of coffee grounds hosted by KAFFTEC, the upcycling of used T-shirts designed by #CycSatelittes By LittleDesignSolution, the waste recycling of plastic bottles created by GREENEXT, etc. By turning waste into treasure, the workshop encourages participants to try a more eco-friendly lifestyle, as well as to extend the product life cycle!
