As the influence of this year's Typhoon No.5 "Dusuri" and Typhoon No.6 "Kanunu" brought heavy rainfall, various regions across the country experienced instances of flooding. Amap (高德地图) announced its collaboration with transportation authorities and other relevant departments nationwide to upgrade the built-in "Flooded Area Map" within its app. This enhancement aims to promptly release information regarding flooded areas, road closures, and alternate routes for users' reference during travel.

The upgraded "Flooded Area Map" by Amap is based on the compilation and marking of historical susceptible flooding points during rainy seasons, presented through the "Amap Guide" platform. During heavy rain conditions, Amap will also use voice alerts to timely notify users about the locations of potential flooding points ahead.

According to official statements, the initial rollout of the "Flooded Area Map" update covers cities including Beijing, Quanzhou, Hangzhou, Nanjing, Zhengzhou, Liuzhou, Guiyang, Baoding, and Changzhou. Users from these cities can search for "City Name + Flooded Area Map" within the Amap app to access relevant information.

Furthermore, Amap users can contribute by creating their own guides and uploading information about flooding points in their vicinity. The company states that user-generated guides will be reviewed and published after verification, serving as valuable references for other citizens' travel plans.
