Anta × WWF - Protect the Yangtze River Dolphin

On May 22nd, the 23rd "International Day for Biological Diversity," ANTA Group, in collaboration with its strategic partner World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) and the Earth Nature Foundation, organized the "Guardian of the Yangtze River Dolphins and Nature Exploration" event in the Chinese White Dolphin National Nature Reserve in Tian'e Zhou, Hubei Province. This event marked an important practice of ANTA Group's commitment to biodiversity conservation following its global strategic partnership with WWF.

Guarding the Chinese White Dolphin: A Conservation Enlightenment Journey

ANTA Kids, a professional children's brand under ANTA Group, invited 15 member families to become volunteers and participated in the Yangtze River dolphin conservation action. They visited the Wetland Science Museum in Wuhan Liberation Park, which was built with ANTA's donation. During the visit, they gained in-depth knowledge about the Chinese White Dolphin, engage in fish fry release as dolphin feed, and have a night observation of natural insects at the beach of Tian'e Isle.

The Yangtze River dolphin is a unique and nationally protected animal in China. The conservation of this species is crucial for maintaining biodiversity and safeguarding the Yangtze River. In 2013, the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) classified the porpoises as critically endangered. During a two-day event, participants gained knowledge about the Yangtze River dolphin and developed a deeper understanding of their endangered status. The event also raised awareness about animal protection and environmental conservation. ANTA Kids hopes that these activities will encourage more individuals and society to become involved in the protection of China's biodiversity and the Yangtze River.

Learning through fun: Environmental education is no longer dull

ANTA Kids has already integrated environmental concepts into many activities. In April of this year, ANTA Kids organized a "Running and Fitness Camp" at the ANTA Kids Sports Park by Erhai Lake. Children not only engaged in physical exercise and enjoyed the fun of sports but also surrounded themselves with the blue sky and sea, which unconsciously stimulated their instinct to connect with nature and explore it, achieving a win-win effect.

The significance of the "Giant Panda Exhibition" held at the end of 2022 was even more apparent. With 1,864 paper sculptures of panda cubs on display, the exhibition took place at the ANTA Operations Center and SM City Plaza in Xiamen, turning the nature conservation exhibition into a popular destination for families. It can be said that in the development trajectory of ANTA Kids, environmental protection has already become an integral part of the brand's core values.

Practicing environmental protection, ANTA Kids move to nature.

Many ANTA Kids' shoe and clothing series have adopted degradable and recyclable materials. Recently, ANTA Kids collaborated with the Chinese designer brand PRIVATE POLICY to launch the ANTA Youth Zero Carbon Fiber T-shirt, which contains biodegradable, zero-carbon Lyocell fiber sourced from wood.

In August 2020, ANTA Group became a global strategic partner of WWF and launched the environmental protection concept "Moving to Nature". Over the past three years, both parties have been committed to supporting biodiversity conservation in China, focusing on protecting endangered species such as the Yangtze River dolphin and the Northeast tiger. They have enhanced the stability of forest ecosystems by restoring forest habitats, launched biodiversity conservation theme campaigns, and reached millions of people.

In March 2023, ANTA Kids released the environmental protection concept "Moving to Nature with Kids", aiming to promote sustainable development and biodiversity conservation for children. By popularizing knowledge on protecting biodiversity among young people, ANTA Kids seeks to increase their awareness of biodiversity and inspire them to protect the environment.

GREENEXT's Take

ANTA Kids, a children's sportswear brand, has been successful in incorporating environmental sustainability into their brand values. They have partnered with WWF to participate in the Yangtze River dolphin Conservation Action, and have launched eco-friendly products, which uses biodegradable and recyclable materials. In addition to promoting environmental sustainability, ANTA Kids also aims to inspire children to love sports. Through various activities, ANTA Kids hopes to instill a passion for physical activity in children and promote a healthy lifestyle.

Overall, ANTA Kids is a brand that is not only committed to producing high-quality children's sportswear, but also to promoting environmental sustainability and encouraging healthy lifestyles. Their efforts to protect endangered species like the Yangtze River dolphin serve as an inspiration to other companies to prioritize environmental conservation and sustainability in their business practices.
