Ganni and Ambercycle sign offtake agreement for circular polyester
Danish womenswear company Ganni has taken a significant step towards its sustainability goals by signing an offtake agreement with Ambercycle, a leading circular textile developer based in Los Angeles. This strategic partnership aims to integrate Ambercycle’s innovative circular polyester into Ganni’s product lines, replacing 20% of its virgin and recycled bottle-based polyester with Ambercycle’s regenerated material.
Since 2021, Ganni and Ambercycle have collaborated to pioneer sustainable fashion solutions. Last autumn, Ganni debuted three products made from Ambercycle’s circular fiber, cycora®, showcasing the potential of circular textiles in the fashion industry. This latest agreement is a testament to Ganni’s commitment to reducing its environmental impact and promoting sustainable practices.
Ganni’s ambitious plan to cut its carbon footprint by 50% by 2027 includes this offtake agreement as a key component. The company also aims to source 10% of the materials used in its collections from “Fabrics of the Future” by 2025. These goals underscore Ganni’s dedication to sustainability and its role in driving positive change within the fashion industry.
