Cos announces plans to launch garment renewal program

Cos, the fashion brand owned by the H&M Group, has announced plans to roll out a garment renewal program. The initiative aims to encourage customers to bring their old clothes back to the store for recycling or repurposing.

The program will be launched in selected COS stores across Europe and will allow customers to bring in any COS garment, regardless of its condition, and receive a voucher for a future purchase. The returned garments will then be sorted and either recycled or given a new lease of life through upcycling or resale.

COS is committed to sustainability and this initiative is part of their broader efforts to reduce waste and promote circularity in the fashion industry. By encouraging customers to return their old clothes, COS hopes to divert textiles from landfills and minimize the environmental impact of their products.

Customers who participate in the program will not only be rewarded with a voucher for their next purchase, but they will also have the satisfaction of knowing that they are contributing to a more sustainable fashion industry. By giving their old clothes a second life, they are helping to reduce the demand for new garments and the resources needed to produce them.

The roll-out of the garment renewal program will be a gradual process, starting with selected stores in Europe. However, COS plans to expand the initiative to more stores and regions in the future. This demonstrates their long-term commitment to sustainability and their willingness to invest in innovative solutions to reduce waste in the fashion industry.
