Burberry unveils Remake capsule kidswear collection made of surplus fabrics
British heritage brand Burberry has recently launched a new children's capsule collection, dubbed the 'Remake' line, crafted from surplus fabrics and yarns from previous collections. This latest move is part of the brand's ongoing efforts to incorporate more circular practices into its offerings, a strategy already implemented in several adult product lines.
The 'Remake' capsule for children includes a wide range of items, from outerwear styles and jersey hoodies to shorts and kilts. Each piece in the collection is adorned with a “multiple owners label,” which serves as a gentle reminder to encourage users to pass down the garments to future generations.
The collection features staple Burberry motifs, such as Daniel Lee’s duck design, which can be seen embroidered onto sweatshirts or blended into cashmere socks. Additionally, the Thomas Bear teddy has been reimagined as a 'hero' item, presented in a new patchwork design that reinforces the circular theme of the capsule.
According to a release, this latest children's capsule is an extension of a similar circular collection that Burberry created in 1911. The brand has timed the release of this collection specifically for the festive season. To celebrate this occasion, the capsule has been captured in a series of portraits that evoke the brand's ongoing ‘Wrapped in Burberry’ campaign, serving as a nod to the current period.
Burberry's 'Remake' capsule for children is not only a testament to the brand's commitment to sustainability but also showcases its ability to blend heritage with contemporary design. With this latest collection, Burberry continues to push the boundaries of fashion, proving that luxury and sustainability can indeed coexist.
