Burberry climate-positive landscape launches in El Hierro, Canary Islands

Burberry collaborates with its global creative community to present the Burberry Landscapes series, a refreshing fusion of art and nature that pays tribute to the Earth's past, present, and future. The brand brings its creative vision to South Africa and the Canary Islands, adorning two unique landscapes with the vibrant Burberry Check. Both art pieces are carefully crafted and removed with the utmost respect to preserving the original ecological environment.

It is reported that the inspiration for the artwork comes from Elsie Burberry, the daughter-in-law of the brand's founder, Thomas Burberry, and her voyages of adventure. Renowned Spanish land artist Jorge Rodriguez Gerada uses the vast volcanic landscape of El Hierro in the Canary Islands as a natural canvas, skillfully creating a grand and awe-inspiring piece of art. The artistic creation fully respects the island's pristine natural environment, harmoniously blending with the undulating glacial lava plains, composing a magnificent ode to nature.

The rich hues of the Burberry Check are presented using milk-based paints that will gradually fade away without leaving any trace, and this creative approach has been approved and supervised by El Hierro's Environmental Department. This unique art installation not only pays homage to the brand's heritage but also demonstrates the brand's earnest commitment to a responsible future.
