Unspun, the fashion technology company that found success with its customized bespoke jeans created from 3D body scan technology, has set up physical roots in one of its two hometowns, Hong Kong.

Keeping with the brand’s business model, the store carries zero inventory save for samples and will only sell and produce an item after a customer places an order. The store features the same proprietary technology as Unspun’s iPhone app which offers a 10-second at-home body scan that results in a digital twin. The software then converts the 3D model into a pattern for a custom fit. From there, customers can select the fit, fabric, size, thread color and more. The jeans are produced in about four weeks and cost $85-$250. Customers can pre-book in-person fittings at the store, which were previously offered at the San Francisco headquarters only.

Unspun is a clothing brand that manufactures custom-designed jeans, on-demand. Their goal is to disrupt the waste cycle in the apparel industry, where clothing is produced in bulk, shipped to stores, and then—if it doesn't sell—hauled away and often burned. Unspun is creating a denim world that reduces global carbon emissions by 1% through a zero-inventory and low waste process. Unspun said it is the only certified B Corp denim brand in Hong Kong.
