The World Around, Fondation Cartier pour l’art contemporain, and the Power Station of Art to launch IN FOCUS: LANDSCAPES
In collaboration with the Fondation Cartier pour l'art contemporain and The World Around (TWA), the Power Station of Art will organize the "IN FOCUS: LANDSCAPES" international architecture roundtable on December 7, 2024. This event, centered on landscape architecture, promises to be a pivotal gathering for experts and innovators in the field.
Jointly curated by Beatrice Galilee, Executive Director of TWA, and Béatrice Grenier, Director of Strategic Projects at Fondation Cartier pour l'art contemporain, the roundtable will bring together six influential architects, landscape designers, and visionaries: Kunlé Adeyemi, Petra Blaisse, Cho Minsuk, Liu Jiakun, Andra Matin, and Ani Safaryan.
These experts will delve into the historical responsibilities and crucial roles of landscape architecture and related fields in the context of the climate crisis. They will explore innovative solutions, such as floating architectures to combat flooding challenges and the harmonious integration of natural environments with large-scale cultural buildings, contributing to the development of human society.
As urban expansion accelerates and environmental protection issues become increasingly prominent, "IN FOCUS: LANDSCAPES" will also reflect on the responsibilities of cultural communities in expanding their influence. The roundtable aims to stimulate discussions on how these communities can contribute to addressing the pressing challenges of our time.
Since 2013, PSA has initiated the "Architecture and Urbanism" series of exhibitions and research projects. "IN FOCUS: LANDSCAPES" not only continues PSA's long-standing collaboration with Fondation Cartier pour l'art contemporain but also marks the latest event in the series launched after TWA and Fondation Cartier pour l'art contemporain formed a global cultural partnership.
