Textiles Sourcing Hub for Sustainable Innovation launched in Taiwan
To strengthen Taiwan's textile industry's position as a sourcing center for major global brands, the Taiwan Textile Federation has implemented textile export promotion programs, such as holding new product launches online, with five companies participating.
ACEGREEN’s GreenCell (Lyocell Filament) is a material that retains the properties of natural cellulose, so the fabric is fully biodegradable after disposal and landfill. HONMYUE's NüCycle Nylon HT is a recyclable high-strength nylon membrane fabric made from pure ingredients and a unique production process to keep the fabric and material in use for as long as possible, saving more useless nylon fabrics scrap. Kingwhale's RevioTM technology can regenerate textile waste. It will build a production line to collect discarded garments and restore them to sustainable fibers through eco-friendly processing. LIBOLON's CRZ system implements a clothing recycling program that recycles polyester from clothing and regenerates sustainable raw materials that are replicated into new yarn raw materials and used to make products. S.Café® Ocean of SINGTEX has partnered with the Taiwanese non-profit organization Azure Alliance to collect S.Café® coffee yarn and discarded PET bottles from Taiwan's coastline to make functional fabrics. It saves more oil and reduces CO2 emissions and water.
Facing the challenge of global warming, the demand for efficient processing of raw materials, clean energy restrictions, and environmental pollution is increased. Taiwan’s textile industry attaches great importance to introducing advanced technology and using recycled materials to produce environmentally friendly products. The move aims to reduce the negative impact on the environment and support a more sustainable circular economy.
