NIKE unveils "Boundless Girls" themed eco-friendly playground in Yunnan

Dali Weishan County's Temple Street Primary School, nestled in Yunnan province, recently celebrated the inauguration of Nike's "Boundless Girls" themed eco-friendly playground. As the pioneering "Boundless Girls" themed eco-friendly playground, this school's sports field garnered nationwide support and harnessed the power of young female role models. Through the collaborative efforts of Nike's "Boundless Girls" initiative and the "Move to Zero" environmental campaign, college student volunteers from nearly 20 universities across the country initiated advocacy on campus. They rallied fellow students to join the ranks of public service and environmental stewardship, contributing to sustainability by recycling old shoes and inspiring girls to get active.

Moreover, numerous distinguished Chinese female athletes were actively involved. The discarded sports shoes collected through this joint venture were transformed using Nike Grind technology and repurposed to construct an eco-friendly playground. This newly revitalized sports area also infused environmental awareness into the lives of local children. In crafting China's first "Boundless Girls" themed eco-friendly sports facility, Nike enlisted the expertise of fashion designer Susan Fang for a special design. Her thematic approach, encompassing butterflies, rainbows, and hearts, artistically conveys love and energy outward, using vibrant colors to restore a colorful sports perspective in the eyes of young girls. This endeavor ensures that participating in sports brings joy and comfort to these girls.

This summer, Nike has further expanded the scale of its "Boundless Girls" philanthropic summer camp initiative, with camps covering 22 project schools. Over 300 volunteers from more than 40 universities across the nation have joined the effort. These college student volunteers have become tangible new-generation athletic role models for the girls. By engaging in a variety of subjects including sports, art, culture, and personal hygiene, they facilitate an enriching and enjoyable summer for the girls through lighthearted games and interactive sessions, fostering growth and collective learning.
