ANTA Launches Zero-carbon Mission Store in Shanghai

ANTA, a leading sportswear brand in China, has launched its first carbon-neutral retail store, ANTAZERO, coinciding with Earth Day. This groundbreaking initiative not only aligns with global sustainability trends but also reflects China's commitment to achieving its dual carbon objectives.

Situated at 98 Wukang Road, renowned for its blend of historical significance and innovative commerce, the ANTAZERO store represents a significant milestone in ANTA's sustainability journey. The store, spanning 450 square meters, goes beyond being just a retail space; it serves as a community hub for sustainability, offering a unique blend of retail experiences, art installations, and sustainability-focused workshops and literature.

From the conceptualization stage, ANTA has partnered with Carbonstop, a professional carbon management consultancy, to conduct detailed carbon footprint assessments and calculations for design plans, building materials, and display equipment. This meticulous approach aims to promote effective carbon reduction measures at various stages of the store's development.

Throughout the decoration and construction process, ANTA has implemented innovative measures to reduce emissions by over 30%. These include using old cloth and patchwork fabrics for enclosures, preserving original walls and floors, purchasing second-hand equipment, and repurposing air conditioning and lighting fixtures. To validate its carbon-neutral status, ANTA has enlisted the expertise of the authoritative certification organization Bureau Veritas.

The ANTAZERO store features selected products that adhere to ANTA's sustainability concept, with some, like the newly released Anta Air Mecha running jacket and Anta Mach 4 running shoes, receiving carbon-neutral certification. For example, the Air Mecha jacket incorporates recycled materials in its design and utilizes clean energy extensively during production, resulting in an 11% emissions reduction.

Looking ahead, ANTA remains committed to sustainability across all aspects of its operations. From product design to retail and consumer interaction, the brand will continue to employ sustainable methods, conduct thorough inspections, and make necessary adjustments. This steadfast commitment underscores ANTA's dedication to its "Zero Carbon Mission" and its vision for a greener future.

The launch of the ANTAZERO store represents a significant milestone in ANTA's sustainable journey and reflects the brand's ongoing efforts to prioritize environmental responsibility. Through its comprehensive ESG management system and sustainable development strategies, ANTA has achieved remarkable progress in its sustainability endeavors.

According to the latest ESG report, ANTA Group has obtained a "BBB" rating in the MSCI ESG rating, making it the highest-scored company in the Chinese sportswear industry. As ANTA continues to respond to national sustainability strategies and promote technological innovation, it remains committed to realizing its mission of "Mutualism with the Society" and "Mutualism with the Environment."
